The concept of a Nouns minting economy is fascinating. It's a fairly ambitious bet but if it works out, is a big validation that NFTs can be used for permissionlessly distributing capital to ideas that people resonate with.

It's definitely expensive but Wiz is a world-class developer and Nouns thinker. In the current moment that's a pretty rare breed, and warrants the appropriate level of compensation to reflect that. Especially given the ceiling of the idea, which feels (pun intended) unbounded.

I think bound.wtf is a fun little app, but the app hasn't hit any version of PMF and honestly I am not sure it will. Love the work Wiz puts into creating products, but I don't think nouns should fund every possible "nounish" software being built. We aren't a seed fund for these projects to get off the ground. I rather us help fund projects that find PMF in the community and then we fund them to get to greater heights.

I love the idea and I'm a big fan of Wiz's work. Everything about this proposal is excellent besides the amount of funding requested.

In my mind, we have two different segments of funding:

• Indie builders who are primarily rewarded via 5 - 15 ETH in retro funding. Voter.wtf and some of the Nounish libraries are good examples here
• Larger initiatives that Nouns uses constantly. Agora and Prop House are two examples here, as is Nouns.Camp. I'd view this as a category of "tooling essential for the operation of Nouns"

This proposal falls into an awkward middle for me. It's larger than a retro fund, but not enough to make it into essential tooling for Nouns.

If the Nouns community was relying on this tool every day, I'd want to fund an ask even larger than what's requested here. But 60 NFTs and 500 mints feels more similar to the traction we've seen for retro funding.

I'd support this proposal as-is with an ask that is in line with retro funding, or for a much larger ask in the future with more traction. Right now, the amount is too large to serve as a retro funding "thank you", and too small to make this into essential tooling for Nouns.

wiz is a world class builder and we need more people like him building on nouns. for his quality and focus, this proposal is reasonable.

largely an outsider in the current wave of minting euphoria.
imo there is a very simple/valuable idea here that can also be read as a cosmetic/branding flaw of prop house;
if 'props' were instead called something like 'expressions' you get the general case. Wrote around it in the 2024 re-up vwr; the expressions can be formal requests for eth, but they can also be anything else, and the voting or minting body is given agency to choose which creators to subsidize further.

this body can be self-permissioned (like nouncil/amigos etc but with richer dimensionality), which imo will be the 'identity/credibility' layer that ultimately works best for nouns vs top-down tallying of nounish deeds, etc.

it would be great if bound and prop house could work together in some way bc it may be wiz is more on the right track but also we have put a lot into prop house which seemingly could fold in some of this infra (additional chains, integrated minting/fee switches) and be instantly a mature (network effects, inherently sybil-resistant) platform for realizing the decentralized funding paradigm i think a lot of us are converging on; collectivized nounish allocation v2!

find it difficult somehow to rly support the prop; i think just because i feel like it could just end up swallowing prop-house since there is so much overlap & decentralized small grants may end up being 80-90% of what the dao funds (you could even imagine scout rounds being done alternatively through this, for example). ofc fomenting competition is one way to go, but i think it could be more nounish to encourage collaborations where it makes sense to avoid redundant efforts/fragmentation.

(as an aside, afaik wiz has some pending deliverables from a previous prop (?) and wonder if there is any issue with funding new projects while many of us are eagerly waiting for the L2 federation stuff)

This has the potential to be really important long term Nouns infrastructure and an alternate way to support Nounish Network Public Goods than relying soley on the Treasury. Paired with identity and attestation solutions we have the formula for the next wave of Network Public Goods innovation. It's also great for artists, meme makers and proliferation. Very Nounish.
