One of the biggest challenges Nouns currently faces is giving people clear and compelling ways to get involved. While the standard answer is "Join the community and participate," this can feel vague and unclear. New members are left to navigate a fragmented landscape of websites, articles, videos, and community spaces without a central hub, making for a somewhat disjointed experience.
Currently, onboarding relies heavily on existing community members personally guiding newcomers. While this high-touch approach has its merits, it simply doesn't scale. We need more accessible entry points that empower people to dive in and add value from day one.
This is where Rounds shines. By leveraging Farcaster, it radically lowers the barrier to entry and activation, tapping into social media dynamics and transforming participation into a positive-sum game.
The more people post and engage, the more rewards flow, creating a virtuous cycle of growth. Furthermore, Rounds enables us to efficiently allocate treasury funds to a much wider range of contributors. This is a powerful unlock in a world where attention is scarce and we need to focus our energy on the highest-leverage activities.
The initial Rounds for propdates (rewarding those keeping the community updated on their progress) and animation and drawing (a great space to onboard creatives and artists) were excellent, and I look forward to seeing how the Rounds team continues forward.
We have a unique window of opportunity to build a robust, scalable onboarding machine on Farcaster.
