We've been on the fence with this proposal, even though we commend the rework and the feedback considered in V3. We respect the reputation gained within the space and appreciate the quality of work put into the design and proposal. However, we still struggle with the underlying issue: will people outside of our bubble purchase this ring? This has been a challenge for us in the past, and we don't see the ring breaking this trend with the proposed quantity.

i continue to find the "let's just make 1000+ units of a physical product and hope it sells" approach very unconvincing and wasteful. yes, some nouns fans will definitely rock it. i also appreciate the proposer coming back with an iteration. but we've banged our head against this wall many times (our last attempt being funding $69k + $100k milestone payments for physical watches: nouns.camp/proposals/480). at least in the watches case the proposer put their own money on the line for production and argued hard that the watches would appeal to a market outside of nouns fans. i've been skeptical of this approach and continue to be so

I agree that most of the questions here are around demand, not quality. Would love to see a simple (possibly even refundable) pre-sale alongside this prop. That will help determine whether 1,000 rings will be sold.

I generally share skepticism around physical goods for reasons of demand. Even a small partial deposit, a steep discount, a refundable goal, etc will help prove this out.

Voting yes on this, because, as mentioned in my vote for the previous version of this prop (530), I believe there’s a lot of room for physical objects to become a part of Nouns culture, playing an important role in explaining Nouns and starting conversations.

If this fails to pass, I once again recommend reworking this into a simpler proposal focused solely on producing a small batch of promotional rings. I imagine that the issue many people have with this prop is that, quite simply, 1,000 rings is STILL a lot of rings. Do we think there are 1,000 people that want nounish rings? I’m not certain. The number is almost certainly a fraction of that.

Hoping that this prop succeeds in some form or another.

Past props have shown that demand for physical items is somewhat low, so without data that would suggest otherwise I assume the fate of this ring would be similar, and since I don't see myself buying one of these I'm voting against. I appreciate all the effort put into the prop though!

Voted no previously but appreciate the time and effort that crypto jeweler has taken to get feedback and revise the prop and I'm comfortable with this version (although not perfect but good enough). I think this is worth the experiment to see if he can indeed find the market for this. Beyond that, his network is extensive and the marketing planned will have strong reach so the content that will be produced should have an impact.

Personally don't find the ring exciting, and wouldn't purchase one.

Skeptical about demand, would like to see some data to prove it's there. Pre-sale with a small deposit could help here, still not following why you can't do one before this prop? Presale and prop are not mutually exclusive.

I don't believe this will drive attention for Nouns or attract any of the influencers, builders, communities to participate in Nouns.

I had a good 1-1 exchange with Michael and I appreciate his resilience and positivity to make this happen. The team and partner network are all very well connected and I'm not doubting that the team can execute this.

Voting 'against' because the planned QTYs are almost going to flood the market, over-saturating the demand with low priced products making the CC0 aspect of the designs merely redundant, at least on a mid term time horizon.

I'm standing with by my previous vote that I'd rather fund Michael to do the things he does best - make high end jewelery. And, provide misc funds for required marketing initiatives and dev work. And, to release the design files as CC0.

I'd be a lot more inclined to vote "For" on a proposal to fund Michael to figure out what a jewelery collection for ⌐◨-◨ could look like, work on prototypes, sell high end pieces, releasing the designs as CC0 and open source the source files - instead of bringing low priced products to market.

I'm all in for IRL Nouns products.
This seems a bit more expensive than I'd have like to, but it's okey. They should partially fund this and then take profits from each order.

I can see how this proposal could go either way, but I’d like to share my support for physical Nouns products. I’ve been part of the Nouns community for around two years and have traveled to multiple countries and events. My girlfriend and I have noticed that the noggles always draw the most attention. We usually carry a few pairs with us, and they’re a fantastic conversation starter. People often ask about the glasses, which gives us the perfect opportunity to explain what Nouns are and what our community stands for.

Given this positive experience, I suggest creating a purchasable pack of inexpensive rings that we can give away at events. Having these rings on hand would allow us to share Nouns more easily, just like we do with the noggles.

I will 100% buy a handful of the stainless rings and one of the iced out white gold ones. Been a long time coming. The stainless rings are so cheap, even for non ring wearers, it’s a cool thing to have on the shelf, an interesting gift and great merch. I’ve already earmarked some friends I will give some of these to.

While I do agree that we should gauge interest with a presale, I think Crypto Jeweler has a solid reputation within his industry & the Web3 space.... I also appreciate that while the first proposal did not pass, he continued to show up to weekly Nouncil calls & even join in on Lil Noun calls to hear feedback and continue to make adjustments. We've taken some rather large risks on props that did not follow through, I think this is a reasonable ask from someone we know is going to deliver.

Agree that physical goods often don’t scale as well as digitally native products unless they manage to stand out and gain online momentum through a campaign (and even that might not be enough to sell).
To me, the ring feels either too generic or not generic enough.
I vote against based on the DAO’s history with wearables and my gut feeling regarding the product - Im just not that excited about it.

My voting is leaning more and more towards wanting to conserve the treasury. Simply put I don't see 70K as a good use for something that is so niche.

I understand the cost is supposed to be warranted because it's CC0 but I don't think physical goods CC0 have the same ability to scale as a digitally native CC0 good.

The product is still very niche (maybe meant for the 1000 true fans) and I don't see the demand coming out of the nouns community for physicals (based on historical trends of every other physical that came before, ask for actual numbers for all physical drops) . Ask is smaller than v2 of the proposal and based on some of the FOR signals, abstaining.
