i hear the against votes and desire to push for an alternate route so the dao doesn’t have to vote on these swaps (i guess a low noun id isn’t something we desire to protect anymore?).. but, we can agree on that and push for a better solution while also allowing someone to swap for a noun that further aligns and embeds them in the dao as a long term player. The tip also covers dao expenses for voting refunds, which is a nice gesture.. GL

As someone with my forever Noun, I'm here for it. ⌐◨-◨

Voting for this proposal as we believe it's important for members to have the highest connection possible with their forever Noun. We also agree with statements about building a mechanism where this doesn't need to come up for voting, potentially at a cost, driving money back to the treasury. Many Nouns in the treasury, we believe, would be in high demand. Perhaps a timed, tiered premium could be implemented, allowing the most sought-after Nouns to be snapped up at a higher $ value.

Let’s make Noun swaps even easier so that people can get the aesthetics that they love.

Would be in favor of this no longer needing to go through governance, and would support a prop to fund a smart contract to automate this.

agree that more alignment = better for the dao, but we shouldn't be doing these swaps too often as the costs (time+gas) associated are pretty high

back and forth on swapping from treasury. in general i disagree we should be endorsing use of $nouns pool in any way but unsure this works either. I think my favorite option for noun scout is still a token for claiming the current days noun (ideally an upgrade to settle where you can settle and claim the noun in one tx in exchange for the token), and for everyone else settling a noun they love and bidding is a great option! spend some hrs and get to know the crystal ball

Love the idea of Crypto Sapiens trying to align more with Nouns. Great community and love what Humpty has been doing with his pod and putting it onchain.

Yes for allowing people to get the Noun they vibe with most.

Some recommendations for future swap props to help address comments about waste of time and funds:

• Search the $nouns instant swap pool first, permissionless swapping is the best way
• If you do want to do a treasury swap offer, put a large enough DAO tip to at least offset the gas costs from voting

UX changes are coming to NounSwap to make this process easier and more clear.

I love when people can swap to a noun they vibe more with, especially cool when there’s brand alignment too 🤌

I’ve always said this contract should be approved by the DAO to allow permissionless swaps and avoid the governance overhead, and think that should be explored further in terms of that setup’s parameters: which and how many treasury nouns would be open to swaps, premiums and all that peripheral structuring.

But for now, I don’t mind the odd swap prop.

I’m a no purely to set a precedent that we shouldn’t be doing these sorts of swaps as proposals

While I am a yes on this because I see no reason to not allow swaps.

I would prefer something that creates this frictionless outside of the DAO voting structure.

People finding forever nouns is a good thing. The Tax to the DAO was something I have been wanting so this feels nice.

I don't see the issue with a swap & he wants to pay the DAO extra for the swap - win win. If someone has a connection to their Noun they are much less likely to ever want to fork it, we should encourage people to have their Forever Nouns.... example, mine would be Noun 10, just throwing that out into the universe ⌐◨-◨
