not opposed but will draw attn to proposer (and all potential swappers) that if/when % exit is deployed there is a reasonable chance it will mean the exit value of the swapped noun is 0 (treasury nouns may have no claim on treasury). if willing to accept the risk then this prop is imo a clear win-win

i wonder if ppl would have mostly voted yes if there was no tip at all. the “pricing” of the premium is leading to disagreement with the price but idk this feels like a pretty nounish swap request and we would be better off with another nouner with a forever noun

I’m a strong supporter of helping people get their Forever Noun. Not needing to wait for the auction of specific traits leads to more auction participation, which is a great thing.

I hear the premium question, but I feel that most people are overanalyzing it. Sure, lower numbers are likely more valuable, but the difference is likely small enough that we should make it easy. We should keep an eye out for round numbers, meme numbers, and sub 100 numbers, but the rest is likely straightforward.

I remain in favor of funding a prop that automates this via a smart contract, potentially with parameters that can be used to set a specific premium on certain properties (e.g. specific numbers, mod X, etc)

Yes2Crypto is a great supporter of Nouns, and I am also a fan of his contributions. But I don’t believe that we should be determining swaps based on who is requesting the swap - the general principle should stand on its own.

Yes2 has won 4 auctions and added almost 29e to our treasury since April. An average of 7e per Noun.

Let the man swap his noun and become further aligned with the dao as a long term player (the id isnt even that low, compared to multiple two digits we recently gave away for free).

agree with Peter on this one: imo the premium is either participating in FOMO to increase the odds of your forever Noun to be minted for the auction and then participating in the auction, or a (likely slightly higher) premium for the swap.

I think the streets are indexing too hard on principles and potentially trying to extract value via premiums. Nouns is better off if more Nouners hold their ideal (or close to ideal) Nouns.

Still fail to see how this is bad for the DAO. If our goal is to cultivate an engaged and satisfied community then rewarding active members with the ability to swap to their desired Noun seems like a no-brainer.

The "tax" on the DAO is much lower for a swap than for giving out an entire Noun, which has happened many times.

would people support sending all of the treasury nouns to a contract that lets people permissionlessly swap for a larger fee? I think swapping should be a premium, lets say 1 ETH. Not having to vote on each of these would be awesome

I generally disagree with having a pool of Nouns available for swapping. For this specific proposal, I'm voting no because traits should demand a premium when they come to auction if they're desired. It feels like part of the game.

Also agree that lower IDs feel like there’s a premium value that hasn’t been addressed. It’s a hard nut to crack though. And I suppose we just tackle each ID as it comes up for now.
