It's a big ask for an unproven concept. I am voting yes based on two things:
-
Potential to onboard and monetize the boardgame community
-
ispeaknerd has demonstrated grit and the ability to create network effects. This instills confidence that this team will be able to create impact through this prop and have it tied back to Nouns.
Reasoning:
I was hesitant to support this prop until I took the time to dig into the boardgame community to understand this prop's potential. Boardgamers are a huge, global community, with a serious need for a modern platform to communicate, play and transact.
I'm a big proponent for bringing fun, culture, and community on chain.
I wish this prop did a better job at selling the potential and giving us a projected path for bringing this community onchain and disrupting the existing platforms. I looked into boardgamegeek website, they have millions of users. I believe they would greatly benefit from onchain primitives to help their communities evolve onchain.
+1 for Nouniverse cross over. I love when props demonstrate willingness to collab with other props and community members. I really like that this prop is working with Brennen, Nounish Prof, and prop583.
+1 for network effects within crypto. This prop shows that the team is willing to get after it and make the necessary connections to continue growing its reach. It also seems they're well positioned to partner with other crypto platforms to help grow distribution.
+1 The potential to create impact beyond Nouns. I think this team is well positioned to grow out of Nouns funding and seek greener pastures with teams and protocols that have a beefier treasury than ours.
I would not support a second prop without this team making substantial growth in user acquisition and onchain tooling to help onboard new users. The current stats show 160 players and their goal is 1000. I would not support a second prop claiming only 1000 users/ players as a success metric.
Highly recommend this team lean's on talent within Nouns to help cover some blind spots. I believe this team could benefit from more technical and business support to help create sustainability.
