In the last prop, we brought Nouns brand physically in Malaysia. We hosted our own local event exclusively for Nouns and incorporated with the local artists, each representing various forms of background, to produce physical products centered around Nouns brand, which adds another layer of creativity and community involvement. We brought more local talents to participate in our contests and workshop and showcased them physically to generate excitement & attract more attention from the masses & media outlets.

We have established the first Nouns-centric creative based camp in Malaysia for the DAO which located in Tamarind Square, Cyberjaya, Malaysia. Cyberjaya is known as Malaysia’s biggest tech community, packed with global tech-hub & companies and a place where youth is rapidly growing.

We’ve studied on how this hub location could be impactful for the DAO & masses. We chose and designed this unit based on several key factors:

• Site location: the unit is strategically located facing the main community amphitheatre where various programs are being hosted during both day and night. The hub is highly visible and can be easily seen by the public from all sides. Below are some angles & examples of the programs that have been held there. Additionally, there's an event hall located next to the community amphitheater, which helps attract and drive crowds to the surrounding area, including our hub.
• Design: we've designed the hub in vibrant colors which resembles the colorful of Nouns brand, ensuring it stands out and looks dynamic both from afar and up close. The whole architecture of the space is designed as open plan to allow flexibility on how user wanted to use the space.
• Commitment : we have signed & committed to a 3-year contract with the owner for the space. this is to ensure there's a dedicated hub for Nouns community & fanbase that will continue to benefit from it for the next three years.

We held a special celebration, the grand opening of Nouns Beyond Screens on 24 & 25th August 2024 to mark the opening of the first Nouns-centric physical creative base camp in Malaysia. We hosted few talk sessions, governance public voting initiative, movie screenings, logo contest, maker's corner, gacha lucky draw & workshop. We have invited all collaborating & funded artists & builders to share their experience & knowledge about their proposed projects to the masses.

We have collaborated with our local artists & builders to build physical products centered around the identity of Nouns brand. Each artist has the flexibility in terms of what they want to build, as long as it aligns with the Nouns ethos, bring values to the DAO & community and come up with their own proposal to produce the physical products. All the products are being showcased and available for purchase in-store & online (wip). We’ve also set aside a few allocations for the community.

WTF, short for “Want to Fund”, offering a mini grant funding to local artists & builders, enabling them to create, innovate, and present their new physical ideas to Nouns. The main goal is to give them a financial boost while bringing together Malaysia’s creative minds from various background to build physical products with Nouns and capture the global spotlight.

We have launched our first capsule collection consists of heavyweight oversize t-shirts, enamel pins, sticker packs, newspaper prints and customized packaging box. We traveled to Bandung, Indonesia to source the fabric materials and printed few samples. Why Bandung? Bandung’s fabric industry is well-regarded for its quality and affordability, and it's also the closest to our location. We have managed to host 2 prop house rounds, CC0-LIB x Prop House Round 2 & 3. We have introduced public community voting in Round 3 which allows anyone to cast their vote for the best artworks by signing in using Farcaster, crypto wallet or via email.

• Having a physical space gives us immediate freedom and flexibility to create and showcase anything related to Nouns brand. It allows us to set up displays, host any nounish-related events without limitations.
• One-off events can be impactful, but having a fixed physical space for the DAO would allow us to do much more and create lasting value.
• We've found that our local communities are more interested in learning about Nouns through face-to-face engagement and the opportunity to see the physical products themselves. Physical space enhances direct interaction with the public & artists which builds more trust.
• We've discovered that more local artists & builders expressed an interest and wanted to collaborate & build with Nouns especially after seeing their colleagues collaborated with Nouns and being exposed about what Nouns is all about.
• Artists have shared that they appreciate the collaboration between Nouns because they have the freedom and flexibility to explore their creations while still working within the Nouns identity & ethos.
• But some locals aren't used to open brief grant/funding which makes them hesitate to participate/collaborate, so they need extra attention and guidance.
• We believe the proposing period for artist collaborations and funding grants should be allocated to at least a min of one month and above. This extra time helps us to onboard and explain Nouns to newcomers, build their trust, and addressing concerns (scammers, hack, funding sources etc).
• During the grand opening of Nouns Beyond Screens, we have set up a public governance voting installation to let them vote on Nouns proposal candidates. This is to introduce & educate the masses about the governance of Nouns DAO.
• Nouns community showed interest in displaying their physical items after seeing the space.
• We realized there’s a lot of unforeseen works involved in executing this proposal, so we decided to hire more permanent staffs & part-timers to help us deliver at the highest standard, rather than just getting by with limited resources.

We want to start a funding pool initiative within our local community, NounsMY, hosting an open round of funding where artists and builders can pitch their proposals. Here's the format we are looking at:

• 80% physical / 20% digital projects
• each funding cycle will have a fixed pool amount (e.g; 2,5k USDC)
• proposals should include all project details and the requested amount of funding
• targeted for smaller project & low funding cost
• creators will be given the opportunity to pitch their ideas in a live / recorded session
• the past funded/collaborated artists will be invited to review the proposals & participate in discussions
• regular updates & final report upon completion is needed
• funding to be released in milestone basis

Funding Request: We are requesting $15,000 USDC from Nouns DAO to support our local funding initiative to build with Nouns. This budget will cover all the required needs from printed materials, marketing, exhibition, etc.

We want to extend the WTF Art & Tech for more upcoming seasons. The brief remains the same: to create physical products centered around the Nouns identity and also that can benefit the local community & Nouns DAO. Each season will have a fixed amount of funding grants. Based on our past learnings & takeaways for Season 01, we will allocate at least one month and above for proposing period. With the extra time, we can reach a wider audience who may not be aware of the programs and also to receive high standard & quality proposals. Here's the format we are looking at:

• 80% physical / 20% digital projects
• each funding cycle will have a fixed amount of funding grant
• targeted for medium range project & medium funding cost
• creators will be given the opportunity to pitch their ideas in a live / recorded session
• the past funded/collaborated artists will be invited to review the proposals & participate in discussions

We are excited to host more artist-brand collaborations for more upcoming seasons. We believe the artist-brand collaborations were a huge success, exceeding our expectations especially when we managed to tap into their audiences, attracting more people to learn about Nouns, including professionals from the toy industry, illustrators, motion designers, tech developers and etc. For the upcoming seasons, we aim to enhance our collaboration by engaging in deeper discussions with the artists, to explore more bold and creative ideas. Typology of Hub

Here's example of what the hub could offer in the future. We want to make our physical space available for use both day and night, on weekdays and weekends. On weekends, the space will be open for rent for any events, talks, gatherings, brand launching & etc.

To showcase how Nouns contributes to public goods, we plan to give back to the local community by offering one free weekend rental each month, allowing them to host any event they want. For each free session, in return they must allocate at least one time slot for the organizer to educate the audience about Nouns.

NounsMY Governance Section

We have introduced a public governance voting installation during the grand opening where we can slowly educate public about how Nouns DAO governance system works. Public can cast their vote on Nouns proposal candidates. After getting some feedbacks & suggestions, moving forward, we want to enhance all past and future customers to be able to share their opinions & suggestions, and in return, they will receive extra perks at our physical store. We will also make it portable, enabling us to set up at various upcoming events.

Nouns Maker's Space & Nouns Bites Zone

We want to setup a coffee bar, a snack & sip station where we will sell coffees, pastries and other small bites to elevate the vibrancy of the hub (back section). We will also add-ons few interior & fittings to the section. We’re excited to introduce Nouns maker's space, where we offer customization services for the community. We have setup an engraving & lasercut machine and we wanted to offer more creative toolings where we can always utilize it in the future (e.g; host our own workshop in the future, learn to create the world smallest noggles ⌐◨-◨)

Funding Request: We are requesting $17,200 USDC from Nouns DAO to enhance our community hub. This budget will cover additional cost for space enhancement, interior & fittings add-ons, better governance voting installation setup & platform and all the required needs.

We want to inject elements of fun and enjoyment that resembles the Nouns identity. We want to experiment with something that can stall time and initiate conversations over time, especially to engage and attract both old & young generations. Above are some of the merchandise items we plan to introduce in our upcoming capsule collections. We plan to drop some of the items at DevCon 2024 in Bangkok. All final products will go through demand & forecast : to be produced in small batches, to prepare for uncertain demand, to avoid overproduction & obsolescence.

Funding Request: We are requesting $28,500 USDC from Nouns DAO to support the next upcoming seasons of capsule collections. This budget will cover all the required needs from sampling, final products, logistics, printed materials, marketing, exhibition, etc.

We want to establish ourselves as a resource point for Nouns physical items globally, subject to logistics (eg: size, weight etc). If you're looking to distribute Nouns-centric products in Southeast Asia, we can serve as one of your distributors (e.g., Quack & Lola, Nouns Esports, Merch by nounish Team, Nounish Friends & Paper Noggles by Bigshot, Precious Plastic by Mari, Nounswatch, Nouns Ledger, Nouns Japan etc.).
