Esports has become a major catalyst in expanding the reach of Nouns DAO. Many streamers, players, and influencers have joined the Nouns ecosystem through the esports channel. Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest esports ecosystems in Southeast Asia, especially in mobile games like Mobile Legends. This online game attracts a wide range of players, from children to adults. The developer, Moonton, actively supports student competitions such as MLBB Student Leader. Large competitions are also held twice a year, namely MPL and MDL.
Makassar, the third-largest city in Indonesia, features a vibrant gaming ecosystem. The city's dynamic gaming scene is driven by numerous local communities that frequently organize tournaments. Additionally, two of Indonesia’s most renowned esports teams, NFT Esports and Pandora Esports, are based in Makassar. These teams are pivotal in fostering the gaming community in the city. The local government also supports esports development by organizing annual tournaments and hosting the Liga Esports Nasional. This collective effort has established Makassar as one of the cities with the fastest-growing esports scenes in Indonesia.

Just like E-Sports, Indonesia also has a very good art ecosystem. There are many art galleries in Indonesia. One of them is Ganara Art Space in Makassar. This art gallery often holds individual exhibitions of famous artists. The gallery also offers live painting and poetry. We will work together to organize an Art IRL hackathon that will be held at Ganara Art Space.
Figure 3: Nounsweek Menyapa X Unhas Esports
The collaboration on this proposal began with the Nounsweek Menyapa #01 event. This event marked the initial step for Nounsweek to engage in discussions and exchange ideas about Nouns with cross-ecosystem communities. During this session, we signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate in promoting Nouns through Unhas Esports. The meeting was attended by 25 representatives (see the list of participants on this attendance list) from Unhas Esports. Included MLBB Fun Games activities, as well as discussions about Nouns and esports. In this activity we also collaborated to create a proposal for a Nouns Funds Tournament rounds on nouns.gg. As a result, we won the round and received seed funding.
Figure 4: Esports Tournaments Held by Unhas Esports
Unhas Esports is a student organization dedicated to esports, which aligns well with our vision and mission for developing sustainable projects. In the first phase, we achieved success by winning a tournament round organized by Nouns Esports. We see this as an ideal moment to expand our collaboration between Nouns and Unhas Esports. The project we propose is an esports festival specifically designed for students and university communities.
This aligns with Nouns' vision of promoting public interest. Our focus is on reaching students through esports. The aim of this festival is to introduce Nouns to students, using esports as a medium to facilitate the spread of Nouns' influence among them. Additionally, the festival seeks to support students in becoming professional esports players and provide education and guidance on the esports industry and how they can contribute to it.
