looking forward to confirmation that if we build this, the pool will be maintained. even then, i'm skeptical that the small pools will get as much use as the CGI mocks suggest.

if this prop doesn't pass, I'd be in favor of leaning into making it more skateable as an alternative way to encourage visits/use/content. or replacing the 3 pools with 1 larger pool, which should be cheaper and better for swimming.

Seems cool, not a big fan of New Mexico in general, but if i'm ever driving through i'd definitely want to stop by here.

I can’t make up my mind. I really like it, but it will ONLY be legible as a noun from a drone or satellite view. I would duplicate and rotate the noggles 90 degrees and make them red! That could also provide a bit of shade 😆. I don’t think the price is too crazy, to be honest. Public work requires robustness and attention to detail. I’d be keen to see a V2 with something clearly nounish from a ground level POV.

As I keep flip flopping, I figure I can't vote for. I kept hoping my heart or my brain could figure it out, but they can't. It's SO COOL. I just wish it was a little cheaper.

I love the idea but not the cost. If it were more accessible as some other physical spaces are, that would help. Hard to justify it with the visitor count.

I am a big fan of monumental sculpture and while the ask is very high I think that Mike found the right people to execute this and hopefully capture the necessary media attention that some of the other projects did not. Maybe this spicey Mofo that has been super active in the community for years can deliver and I am here for it. Would be cool if the concrete was tinted red on the noggles tho =) cant wait to visit

Hey everyone, thanks for the votes so far. Seems like the big concern here is cost—I typically get that. In this case, I feel differently. Some thoughts:

After the pirate ship playground was completed, I kept thinking, "Wow! I really want to do more stuff like this around the globe." These types of installations check a lot of boxes for me:

• Proliferate Nouns
• Public good
• Incredible large-scale art
• Last a long time with minimal/no upkeep cost
• Create physical nounish landmarks around the globe

I asked myself, "Who can do this for Nouns somewhere locally?" And I instantly thought of Matty (who I had never known personally) for a few reasons:

a. He's creating a decentralized art city, for artists, by artists—something that has always felt very nounish to me.

b. He’s known for large-scale works and has a proven to execute & promote his projects well (as seen through so many of his past works).

We hopped on a call and immediately were aligned; Something BIG. Something you can see from space. He talked about the park and how he envisioned a pixelated noun sculpture rising from the ground—not just as a large-scale permanent art piece, but as something that could actively benefit Art City as it doubles as a pool, and event space... We’re not just funding a giant piece of art that happens to be ‘visible from space’—we’re helping build infrastructure in a decentralized city created for artists. A place we can travel to, camp under the stars, host nounish events, and even spot on Google Earth.

I encourage you all to view the upfront cost of this epic art piece an investment in something that could last for decades—if not forever..

P.S. I have zero incentive to help with this prop. I make nothing if it passes. I’m just a guy trying to build a new world with you all and bring in the right people to help make that happen.

If the goal is still proliferation and lasting public impact, this proposal offers strong ROI in our opinion. With TMFA’s track record, Art City’s growing momentum, and the legendary Route 66, this has the potential to be one of the best Nouns activations to date—if executed well. Goodluck.

The cost may seem a bit high, but what is offsetting that for me is.... we have a permanent fixture in an easy accessible place, we have a location available to host future Nounish events, they have not requested a snapshot of their land yet for Google Maps so that can be done after the installation which means we would be able to see the sculpture on Google Maps rather quickly, Nouns being associated with an Art City feels pretty Nounish to me ⌐◨-◨
