I think this is fun. But I tend to avoid directly supporting a prop that requires sync with client developers and demands their effort. The auction feature should be kept as simple as possible imo.

Although this is a cool idea, I have to agree that the logistics and experience wouldn't be great.

Besides updates on clients if that's the case, this trait would require a custom page on Noundry so that non-technical people could submit it.

IMO, it's too confusing and going through all that trouble and paying all that gas just to change the accessory of a handful of Nouns, which people might end up not even noticing, isn't worth it.

If a trait is good enough to be voted in as a seasonal trait, it should be good enough to be voted in as a permanent trait. We can just add them as permanent traits directly instead.

Would be easy and fun to just have seasonal/thematic contests more often and keep adding cool traits that document the vibe of the moment.

Regarding feedback wanted to explain more given this trait is designed to be constantly updated with new art based on news, events, or seasonal themes, depending on what artists come up with and final dao voting on update props — making it an experiment with the only directive being that it is not permanent. This differs from other traits, which could technically be changed but are not created with that intention imo they are only updated if minor pixel corrections or color improvements are needed. Additionally, any accessory trait that has been dynamic could even be promoted to a permanent one if voters deem so through a new proposal after.

To avoid frustrating buyers who might not be aware, i am talking with client devs (to enable if this proposal passes) adding a disclaimer when an settled noun has this dynamic trait — making it clear that this is part of those nouns identity like many collections based on this concept of metadata changing thru time. This would be solution for now given that clients are currently the main bidding source. However, if circumstances change in the future, the approach could adapt to ensure transparency and avoid confusion about why a your noun accessory trait would evolve.

technically we could vote to change any trait already (and we have) so they're all dynamic but I'm alright saying this is one we'd like to use for that purpose. That being said, not sure why an artist would want to create/propose an accessory for just for a period of time vs implementing their art into the protocol for infinity.

We have already altered people's artwork via patch prop 631, which did frustrate me as the settler of noun 1400 (haven't patched in probe). At least we are saying upfront this trait will be changed as opposed to randomly changing things we decide we don't like again.

the worry here for me is ... How will new nouners know they own a dynamic trait? how will they know when it will change? Should we rely on frontends to signal this? etc.. but frogs case is compelling- this is an experiment after all. This will be fun as artists start to pre-plan traits around seasons.

I was originally attracted to nouns for the art. Nouns has long felt like a fun, playful and innovative project that is heads above the “get rich quick” schemes that crypto is no stranger to.

This trait embodies everything that nouns stands for. It’s deeply creative, it’s novel, it takes advantage of something that is unique to crypto (updating art that derives from a smart contract).

The art contracts are designed for this sort of play. Voting against this prop is a vote against encouraging creativity within the nouns ecosystem itself.

Yes I get that this trait is confusing and maybe not for everyone but imo it’s one of the coolest traits I’ve seen and would genuinely make me want to bid on a noun.

I like the idea of being playful with a dynamic trait, but im just imagining that many buyers of nouns with this invisible trait will have no idea and then be surprised and frustrated when their noun changes suddenly.

Also seneca makes a great point. once its swapped once, its just a trait like any other.

Dynamic traits fun but replacing a trait doesn’t seem all that dynamic in practice. eg after the first replacement, you’d be replacing an actual trait, not the placeholder/dynamic property. Kinda kills the lore.

I didn't understand the prop at first until Bixbite explained it via Lil Nouns happy hour. So if you purchase a noun with a transparent trait, then you will have a seasonal trait 👕 that will showcase an artist's work 🎨.

I like the concept, but I can see this increasing voting to modify traits that probably won't add much to the collection/lore. I prefer to see well-designed traits that become permanent.
