Inspired by some DAO reflections on treasury, replicable models, and new ways to impact communities and individuals, we created a simple idea that can be replicated in any small city or neighborhood.
Phase 1 (this prop) Renovation → Education → Research Each step is connected, as shown in the diagram.
Phase 2 (after Research): Web3 Services → Crypto Acceptance → Income / Self-Sustainability This phase WON'T require new funding, unless there's a clear path to benefit the treasury.
Following the TLDR, we show how this model could be implemented in a small city.
Búzios is one of the most visited cities in Brazil by international tourists. With over 1.2 million visitors annually, both national and international, it represents the ideal environment to bring a global city on-chain. One that welcomes global currencies and embraces innovation.
Surf for Good is a ongoing social project based in Búzios, founded in 2021 focused on empowering girls aged 7 to 17 from public schools. Through a unique blend of education, surfing, and personal development, it offers a safe space and practical tools for building a brighter future.
In a tourism-driven city where local youth, especially girls, face limited opportunities, Surf for Good acts as a catalyst for change. With plans to expand from 180 to 350 students and introduce new programs, the project is evolving into a movement of empowerment and transformation.

Bel, the project’s founder, discovered Nouns during the execution of prop 512. Since August 2024, Rickyday and Samchalom have joined the project’s back office, bringing new ideas and tech expertise. Bel is part of the leadership behind this proposal.
Búzios, the hometown of builders Rickyday, Samchalom, and Bel (Surf for Good´s Founder) will be the starting point for city-wide research to understand the needs and interests of local businesses regarding Web3 and crypto adoption.
This research will take place over the course of several months and may evolve (we are open to new ideas and collaborations):
The most direct method is to assess the interest of local businesses in accepting crypto as payment.
We will divide the research based on the city’s main economic sectors, especially those whose customer base is primarily tourist-driven:
In addition, the team will conduct an in-depth study on the best legal and practical ways to accept crypto payments, both online and in physical stores, in compliance with Brazilian local regulations.
Once the Surf for Good headquarters renovation is completed, we will regularly host public talks and hackathons for local businesses and the community. We’ll also organize collaborative workshops with partner institutes, inviting representatives from other projects, especially nounish ones, to share their work in Web3 and its real-world impact.
These sessions will introduce concepts like:
Rickyday, Samchalom and Bel, who personally know almost every business owner in town (a major advantage of small cities), will launch a Web3 consulting arm under Surf for Good to help local businesses come on-chain.
Hackathons will help clarify doubts and spark curiosity.
While the girls in the project are still learning and developing their skills, this initiative will already allow Surf for Good to generate revenue through crypto onboarding services, right after the research phase.
THE ULTIMATE GOAL is for the graduating girls from the Surf for Good program to become apprentices in these Web3 consultancies: learning implementation, customer support, and business adaptation.
With this, they’ll be empowered to:
Surf for Good is requesting funding solely for its growth, operational costs for the new areas and managing the research. This expansion will require hiring new teachers, renovating the space to accommodate the new areas, and delivering on the commitments outlined in this proposal. The renovation is expected to be completed within a maximum period of 2 to 3 months after starts.
To accommodate the planned growth, we will undergo an internal renovation. This reform is essential to expand the space and adapt it to the needs of the upcoming education programs.
