agree with many of the comments here that compensating artists should not be up for debate. however, it would be great to have a compensation structure to make it fair for all artists contributing to the dao.

I believe that, at the end of the day, trait proposals come down to personal taste, and this one didn't quite resonate with me. That said, I really appreciate Nadie’s continued contributions to Nouns.

We should make traits abundant. This is a fair price for good art, especially considering the chance of rejection and not receiving funding in the process

It's okay if you "don't like" the trait, but I don't really get the aversion to compensating artists. A price tag doesn't diminish an artwork's artistic and cultural value. In many cases, its monetary value is the result of both.

Is the asking price too high? Well, we need to do price discovery like the daily auction, but consider that adding art to the collection is equally valuable to adding code to the protocol. I don't see anyone having a problem putting a price tag on that work.

I've said it before: yes, we must be strict on which traits we add, but exceptional traits deserve to be added and compensated.

Not compensating artists for their work sends a poor message and perpetuates the twisted reality that artists must constantly fight for their work to be valued.

In isolation, I like the trait. In the wider collection, it seems a little out of place in terms of sizing and dimensions. Obv I'm being finicky here... but I'm sure it's worth refining it just a little more.

Generally not in favor of compensating trait submissions. That said, there may be rare cases where payment makes sense, like when a well-known artist contributes a trait that brings significant new attention to Nouns. Alternatively, we could host trait competitions with prizes, without guaranteeing that winning traits are added to the collection.

That said, it prompted us to dive into your Noundry catalogue, and there’s some absolute fire in there. We look forward to your next submission.

I like this artwork. I don't know how I feel about compensation for getting a head accepted. I feel like the pride of having your artwork immortalized on-chain forever should be reward enough.

Feels a little large in comparison to the other heads, love the idea but I agree some other iterations could be explored

from pov of sponsor (me): the old noundry events/props never got a single new person onchain to propose a head, we are all making pixel art everyday, this is just one community member (who has never been funded by nouns dao up until prop last week), think should focus on celebrating them.

I like people having their own proposals, it adds more significance to an already significant event in their life and is a personal onchain landmark for them; and i like compensation for that reason too, artists shouldn't feel weird about asking for money - Nouns is a buyer of pixel art.

Nadie has made 100s/1000s of traits, as have many others, and I look forward to welcoming/helping them all to propose and compensating everybody forever.

Love Nadie’s art but think the idea could use some revision to better fit the collection

I don't think the aesthetic fits nicely with the rest of the collection. It's too cartoonish (in the Looney Tunes sense), while other traits are more minimalistic and simplify rather than exaggerate features.

I'm also against the comp in this fashion. Noundry is a process rather than specific deliverables, and if we only compensate people when their traits make it to the collection, we'll be favoring those that are more charismatic like you rather than evenly compensating everyone who's participating and keeping the movement diversified.

I would favor Noundry comp in a similar format to the noc prop. Give Noundry a budget and let multiple artists be a part of it.

We could host periodic contests, have more collaborations to iterate on traits off-chain before proposing, make it more lively.

I like the artistic representation of a wolf, but ultimately, it feels out of place with other noun heads.

I’m hopeful of seeing a white toothed abacus 🧮 prop soon, so the DAO bean counters can have a mascot.
